The Mary Fowler Nest
The American Rescue Workers built the Mary Fowler Nest in 2020, amid all the challenges happening at the time. The Bruno and Lena DeGol Family Foundation provided financial support along with monies made from the ARW selling tiles to cover the expenses resulting in a debt-free demolition of an unsafe structure to the beautiful building at the rear of the 502 Mulberry Street location today. Many thanks to Ralph Albarano and his team for their excellent work! The Local ARW Advisory Board and others came together to dedicate the building and pray over it. Since then it has been used for Bible Studies, some local events, and several ARW activities. With a maximum capacity of 50, other groups have rented out the facility for meetings as well. Presently, materials are being constructed to display the tiles that were sold. These displays are expected to be presented to the community sometime this summer 2024. There is much prayer at this time on the best ways to move forward with this facility. Watch for updates here and the Facebook page at ARW Blair County.
Who is Mary Fowler?
Mary Fowler, a former ARW leader, was well-known for loving people fiercely. She served and advocated for the poorest of the poor in Blair County. For this reason, we chose to name the new community building after her.
